Summer is my least favorite season of the year. I am not a big fan of the heat, and living in the state of Utah, we get plenty of that during the months of June, July and August. But one of the things I really enjoy about this time of year are the Summer Nights. When I was in High School, my friends and I would have sleepovers in the backyard and stay up late talking and running around. We would even have the neighbor boys hop the fence and join us once in awhile. When I was attending school at Dixie College in St. George, one of my favorite things to do at night was to walk down to the fountain on campus and just sit there for hours and hours talking. I also remember driving to Snow Canyon and playing football at the Sand Dunes. I sure do miss those Summer Nights. And one of my favorite things about going to Lake Powell each year is being able to see so many bright stars. To this day, I still enjoy searching the skies for shooting stars, and occasionally, I still make a wish or two.

Last night my nephew begged me to sleep outside with him on the tramp, and since I can still remember how excited I used to get about sleeping outside in the summertime, I was willing to sacrifice my own sleeping comforts to allow him some fun memories of his own. I can't say it was the best night's sleep I've ever had, but it definitely was not the worst. I'm glad that Jaustin is around to help me remember my own childhood and to reminisce about the good times I used to have during those fun summer nights.

That's so cute!! I want to sleep under the stars!
I thought it was so nice, we did it again. This time my nephew ditched out on me, leaving me alone out on the deck. It was a nice night but then I woke up with 10 spider bites on my arms and hands. I wasn't too excited about that. Sleeping outside is nice. Being eaten alive isn't so nice.
