Ringing in the New Year!

This year for New Year's Eve I had a quiet evening in the company of my friend Mandy, her parents, and her brother and sister-in-law. We ate pizza, watched a movie, and played cards (which I kicked some booty!), and I had a very nice time. Not exactly the typical New Year's Eve celebration, but it was exactly what I was hoping for: Peace and Quiet! I was way too tired to get excited and all worked up, and I wasn't about to go out far in the cold.

The big celebration came two nights later when I attended the 3rd Annual Mocktail Party, hosted by my friends Ali, Sandra, and Stephanie.

This Year's theme was Enchantment. The Mocktail party is a Blue Tie Affair. It was an evening filled with mocktails, hors d'oeuvres and classic dancing. The drinks were all non-alcoholic and were quite tasty, once I got past the carbonation. I am not a big soda drinker (my favorite beverage is good ol' water), but I forced myself to enjoy a couple of drinks. I first tried the Lime Ricky and then had a Yellow Bird. The hors d'oeuvres were very yummy. I didn't do much dancing, but I did get up for one song and I twirled across the dance floor. Well, I actually just twisted in place. I was excited for another reason to wear the bridesmaid's dress I had to purchase for sister's wedding this past year and I'm just really glad that GREEN was one of her colors.
